Unfortunately, I no longer have the July issue of Shonen-Ace, so here is
a recap of Stage 30 for continuity sake. Maybe someone else can provide
the translation? The translation for Stage 31 also follows below.

Stage 30 deals with the giant "Eye/Amoeba" Angel in space (Sahaquiel =
10th Angel in the TV series). The first half of the episode is very
condensed, but the flashback/introspective scene by Shinji as he waits
in the "sprinter's start" position is expanded. Here, Shinji becomes so
involved in his musings that he misses the 'Start' signal from Misato,
who has to shout at Shinji to get him to notice. As a result, he barely
makes it to the position under the Angel in time.
As reported previously, another big difference is the conversation
between Gendo and Fuyutsuki on the aircraft carrier at the South Pole as
they retrieve the Lance of Longinus at the end of the episode. Upon
hearing that an Angel appeared and was destroyed in their absence, the
conversation is as follows:

Fuyutsuki: ... That makes seven.
Gendo: Yes, which means there are five left.
But getting this Lance will give us humans a slight reprieve before the
Promised Time.
